Bush says that "Americans have spoken." I agree with him. Americans* have told the world that they enjoy their ignorance, fear, lies, cutbacks on freedom, bad economy, needless war, lack of allies and inequality.
*I didn't say all Americans so don't start telling me I'm stereotyping. Bush claims that he has a mandate to govern in the name of the people and the sad thing is that he's right.
I'm an american, and I spoke. I'm not ignorant. I'm not being held in fear of terrorism by Bush. I don't believe he's the liar you would say he is. The economy is not the fault of the president. The war seemed to be needed at the time - and now all we can do is pull out slowly, And Bush is handling it fine. We have allies... and some of them even wanted to have Bush win.
Bush does have a mandate, and it's because we, the voters, gave it to him. And I'm proud of my president.
America is a divided country right now. It's not because Bush is a horrible person. It's because Democrats and liberals hate him for the way he believes, acts, and what he stands for. But apparently 51% of Americans trust Bush, believe he's doing what's right for the country (for the most part, no president is perfect), and we support him.
And since Bush has four more years, the rest of the country had better get used to it.
No Ted, you are horribly wrong. Unfortunately for the Democrats, and other liberals, people do not vote based on the issues. In fact they overwhelmingly ignore the facts.
See, people think that voters will vote their self interests. They don't. It's studied, proven, whatever. 99% of the country did not benefit from Bush's tax cuts in 2001, and 99% of those people who voted for him did it regardless of this fact.
In reality, George Bush won because the Republican party is all pervasive in it's rhetoric. It is completely ironic that the rhetoric George bush claimed John Kerry was so fond of is in fact the only reason anyone voted for him.
By the way, Bush's win is not a clear majority, it's not a mandate, that is bullshit. Not to mention that new evidence surfacing today suggests that there was a significant amount of fraud in florida and ohio with electronic voting systems that may have just put Bush over the top.
